NAD+
Mitochondrial Health + Hormonal Vitality + Cellular Longevity

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a vital coenzyme found in every cell of the body.
It fuels metabolic processes, supports DNA repair, regulates circadian rhythms, mitochondrial health, and cellular aging. NAD levels decline with age, stress, inflammation, and reproductive depletion — especially postpartum or during fertility challenges.
A quick, gentle IM injection delivers a therapeutic dose of NAD+ directly into the muscle tissue, bypassing digestion for rapid cellular uptake. We start with a 1ml dose the first week, and gradually may increase up to 3 doses a week, especially during the follicular phase for fertility support.
NAD+ has numerous benefits in the context of fertility and postpartum care. This coenzyme supports egg quality and mitochondrial function in ovarian tissue, promotes hormonal balance through improved HPA axis resilience, aids postpartum recovery and lactational depletion, and it may reduce oxidative stress and DNA fragmentation that impacts fertility outcomes. PMID: 39325941 Low NAD levels are associated with a decline of spermatogenesis, so supplementing men with this coenzyme supports our efforts in fertility work. PMID: 35600581
For the care of postpartum, breastfeeding women, NAD is a naturally occurring substance found in breastmilk, and in injection supplementation, greatly supports maternal mitochondrial health, cellular repair, and mood. This positively affects the bond with the baby, milk production, and may improve developmental, metabolic, and cognitive outcomes of the child. PMID: 30673618
The most valuable utility of NAD is in longevity and it’s vibrant anti-aging functions. It boosts mitochondrial energy production, enhances cellular repair and sirtuin activation, promotes brain clarity, memory, and mood, supporting healthy metabolism and reducing inflammation. PMID: 36170435
It is also a boon to adrenal fatigue and burnout, cognitive health, detox and chronic illness support, plus post-COVID recovery. Current research indicates NAD+ potential in healing trauma. We know that anyone who has been in a shocking, impactful event, or long standing exposure to stress, will be energetically depleated, and this is reflected in the mitochondrial health. We can use NAD+ to heal from traumatic injuries, and from PTSD. PMID: 37454712 PMID: 36860678
Before considering if NAD+ intramuscular injections are right for you, you should know that these are not recommended for some individuals. We will discuss alternatives if you are currently undergoing chemotherapy or taking immunosuppressants, have active cancer, cancer within the last 5 years, or a history of hormone-sensitive cancers, are in an acute phase of liver or kidney disease, or have known hypersensitivity to NAD+ or its components. Please disclose all supplements and medications during our sessions, and update me as these change. There are no known contraindications in breastfeeding while supplementing with NAD+, but we would use our discretion, and not implement it if a baby has severe metabolic disorders.
Following an NAD+ injection, you may feel very relaxed or a bit tired, and then after 30 to 60 minutes, you may feel energized and in a great mood. Few people report feeling a “rush” or flush. This dissipates. If instead you experience discomfort in your chest, further doses of NAD+ may not be indicated.
