What you should know
Before your session

Golden Therapeutics is a small and personal family practice, located adjacent to a home.
You may park on the driveway. Feel free to pull in front of the circle. The entrance is through the right (West) side of the fence. The gate will be open for you at appointment time. Come though the gate, and the office is the first turquoise door on the left. The second turquoise door is the restroom.
If you arrive early, you can wait in your car. At appointment time, come on in to the office.
If you are feeling unwell, please let me know before your appointment.
Please refrain from wearing perfumes and colognes to Golden Therapeutics, as there are sensitive patients being treated as well, and we foster a safe environment for everyone.
Looking forward to seeing you!

Answers to common questions
-
How should I mentally prepare?
Check in with yourself. Think and feel into each part of your body from head to toe. Does anything hurt? Is there emotional tension some place? Do you feel ease? How are your basic functions? What emotions or thoughts are recurring often? What patterns in your life keep calling your attention?
-
How should I physically prepare?
Have something light to eat, and hydrate well. Best if you can skip your workout on days you receive treatment, so your muscles and sympathetic nervous system are less engaged. If you can’t skip it, do shower before your appointment so your skin is clean for acupuncture.
-
What should I wear?
You can wear anything you’d like. If you want to keep it simple, wear shorts or loose clothing. Should we need access to a body part that your clothes don’t allow, you will be modestly draped. You will receive treatment on a table set with freshly cleaned linens. These are replaced after each patient.

I haven't had acupuncture before. Will it hurt?
During the moment of application, most people are surprised they don’t feel anything at all. Some people feel a short sensation, like connecting with energy. After the points are placed, deep relaxation follows, and you can rest for about 20 minutes. Then, the single-use needles are removed and disposed of. There are many styles of acupuncture and each practitioner is slightly different. Anneliese has a gentle needling approach, informing you of each step, fostering safety through dignity and respect.

What is a session usually like?
The first 10 to 20 minutes we chat about what you’re seeking support with, and what your goals are. You will receive insight and guidance on how to alter your routine to reach your goals, and maintain wellbeing on your own. Acupuncture is administered, and needles are retained for about 20 minutes. During BioEnergetics sessions, Pranic Healing occurs concurrently. If cupping therapy is indicated or requested, it can be incorporated into your session. If herbal formulations are applicable, you will be offered these in the form that suits you best. Sometimes gold ear seeds are placed to extend the treatment. Before we part, we make a plan for a future meeting.

How often should I get acupuncture?
It depends on what we are treating, what your goals are, and budget. For acute and severe conditions, twice a week might be indicated for a couple of weeks. For self care during an intense transition, or personal development, once a week might be just right. Some people make the most of a session every few months, making sure to incorporate the lifestyle changes recommended. Most medications prescribed by allopathic medicine is taken daily to mute a symptom. Acupuncture is a personalized, side-effect-free prescription received in pure relaxation, that corrects the root cause and while relieving the various symptoms stemming from it, at the same time.
